About Me
Get to know me a little better

My Career
In 2002 after completing my Masters in Marriage and Family Counseling I began my first position as a therapist on the Long Beach Peninsula in southwest Washington state. I had the opportunity to work in a community mental health setting which allowed me to serve numerous children and their families. At times this was difficult work, but I loved the people I was helping, and this allowed me to assist clients in deeply important ways.
After leaving community mental health I built a private practice in the Denver area. This was a powerful decade for me. Learning to work with many wonderful people who had challenging sexual addiction issues. This was also a valuable experience being a business owner. A great deal was learned from the ups and downs of being my own boss. I loved these years of service and was able to help hundreds of individuals and couples create better lives as they overcame the pull of compulsive behavior. I will always look back fondly on the beautiful people I was able to get to know.
I was able to use many of my counseling skills to support people in becoming their best selves in a work setting.
After ten years of private practice, I decided to make a career change. I was privileged to accept a corporate position in Utah state as a Director of Culture. This role gave me the opportunity to provide coaching, consultation and training for a growing company. While different from counseling, I was able to use many of my counseling skills to support people in becoming their best selves in a work setting. I had an incredible experience focusing on corporate culture and leadership development. Those eight years taught me a great deal about leading large numbers of people. And again, my fondest memories of those years of service will be the many wonderful people I got to know and befriend.
Fast forward another eight years and it was time for a new shift and focus within my career. Given my love of providing counseling in the past I decided to jump back into the work. This time though, with the changes in technology I decided to create a virtual practice and work from home. This decision has been very popular with my wife, kids and dogs.
